E-mail auto-post trimming

  Hello:

  How do I auto-e-mail followers a shortened preview of a post instead of the full version? My stats can’t reveal my actual readers if they read the whole post by e-mail and don’t click to my site.

  Alternate method, which I believe works in most themes whether or not the custom excerpt functions or not on the front page or for category and archive pages:
