e-mail change on domain

    So I didn’t realize at the time that I had an old domain from 2008, and created a new one recently. I cancelled the new one, and am trying to change the e-mail over to my gmail, as the gieg.ca one will be no longer working in May. It keeps telling me that this e-mail (the gmail one) is already in use… Could I get some help with that please?

    Hey there
    i will ask the WordPress folks to take a look at this for you, they have the ability to cross reference by email addresses and such. One question – the gmail address you are referring to is the one you use with your laur8104 user name?

    Every WordPress.COM blog has a sole owner. It is the person with the WordPress.COM username account who registered the blog under that username account and a single associated email address, and who is the original Admin of the blogs registered under that username account. You can create one gravatar for every username account that applies to all blogs registered under the same username account and email address.

    There is a single email address that can be used on only one wordpress.COM username account and not on any others, regardless of how many blogs are registered under that username account.

    The wordpress.COM blog’s owner can change the relevant email address on their accounts page at https://wordpress.com/me/account at any time.

    Hi @laur8104 , an email address can only be used on one account.

    But since you’re hoping to use a gmail address, here’s a nifty trick. If your address is this:

    (email visible only to moderators and staff)

    ALL of these “email addresses” will work with that same Gmail account:

    (email visible only to moderators and staff)
(email visible only to moderators and staff)
(email visible only to moderators and staff)
(email visible only to moderators and staff)
(email visible only to moderators and staff)
(email visible only to moderators and staff)

    Gmail sees all of those as being the same, and our system sees them as being different. So you can use your gmail address twice in our system if you’ll add a little flair. :) Just remember, dots are ignored, and if you add a plus sign, that plus anything after it is also ignored.
