E-mail DNS for mapped domain

I recently purchased a domain at OVH and mapped it with my wp site. I have and email account set up on my domain at OVH. The DNS at OVH I have correctly directing to WordPress servers (the domain address works just fine) but I can’t get emails to reach my email account. I’m guessing I need to add a proper MX DNS record at my domain’s WordPress settings but whatever I do there it just doesn’t fix the problem. I’d appreciate help if anyone knows more about this than I do.

you can have your dns records point to wp, then add mx.[yourdomain].com for email. it worked for me. i have a similar but different problem relating to google apps for work though.

Thanks. I think I figured it all out. My dns on my domain are pointing to wp and here instead of using my domain’s mx dns I just redirected email straight to another account, which is what I wanted to do anyway. It works and it seemed much simpler then using my domain’s mx here and then (on my domain) redirecting email to wherever it is supposed to go.
