E-mail makes posts reset, comments not appear

    Hello,

    My name is Chris Filip, and I am a student at University Campus Suffolk, a University in the UK. As part of our assignments, we have been asked to hold a blog with our progress through our field of study, Computer Games Design. While all of my other colleagues have chosen Blogspot since it was the platform recommended by our tutor, I chose WordPress, since I believe it has so much more than Blogspot in terms of everything (except the free Custom CSS support, but hey, the people at WordPress need to eat, right? I can live with that given all the other free advantages) and the fact that I’ve been using WordPress for about 5 years now.

    All seemed to go along fine and dandy, with the exception that I received no comments on my blog for quite a while. I first thought that it was the tutor’s ire for my using of a different platform than what he suggested, but when I asked him why he didn’t comment on my blog when he did so on all the others, he said he did, repeatedly so. I said I didn’t receive anything, so we went online to see the problem. Indeed, every time he left a comment on my blog as a Guest his comment did not appear, the page seemingly just refreshing itself. I’ve tried as well, and think I’ve found the problem: WordPress apparently doesn’t support our University’s e-mails. Every time I leave a comment as a guest and use my @ucs.ac.uk (university e-mail) e-mail, the same bug seems to be happening.

    To solve the problem momentarily, I disabled the e-mail requirement for posting comments, but I don’t see why I should do that and wonder why WordPress doesn’t accept my university’s e-mail.

    It looks like these comments were caught as spam. Just visit the Spam area of the Comments section of your Dashboard and mark them as Not Spam. Akismet should adapt eventually.
