E-mails that include a link to my blog flagged as spam
-
A number of my e-mails to a company I do business with have been blocked because their e-mail host flagged a link I included to my wordpress blog as spam. They have said they will add my e-mail to their “white list”.
Is my blog likely to be flagged because of its widgets in the right-hand column listing of links to related sites?
Are there other things I can do to prevent a link to my blog from causing my e-mails to be considered spam?
Thank you!

My guess is that their email client’s spam filter is probably set to filter any emails containing links to other sites or it could be that they’re blocking all social media sites, which could include blogging platforms. I doubt that it’s your blogroll causing it as I don’t think email spam filters will backtrace the link that far.
If you get the same problem with emails you send out to other people the problem might be this side, but I think in this case it has to do with their spam filter settings. If they add you email to their safe senders/white list it shouldn’t happen again with them.
You could perhaps also ask them to add wordpress.com and wp.com to the white list, though that really will only make a difference if they’re receiving email (e.g. notifications) directly from your blog.
