The iPad forum is here > http://ios.forums.wordpress.org/forum/how-to-and-troubleshooting
WordPress.com and WordPress.org have different log-ins. If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there.

If you have a Word document you want to turn into a Post
Paste From Word
If you have a PDF you want to embed

Note – put any scribd embed after a More Tag – Scribd loads the entire PDF document so if it is visible on the front page your load times can be slow and annoying

Hi @auxclass…I have been chatting to someone who has a PDF on his wordpress site and apparently he has told me to use the ‘Add Media’ button, I however have tried this but there is nothing to suggest I can use PDF and when I click pics, it just asks to upload pictures.
Can you enlighten me on this what this person has mentioned to me please? It doesn’t mean I have to own the blog does it ie name.com?
Thanks

You should be able to upload PDF files, either drag and drop or browse with the Add Media option. I have uploaded many many PDF documents to my site. Usually I just put a link to the document if someone wants to download it.
Scribd will not accept a password protected document. But if you upload a PDF document then link to it, you can set permissions to help prevent copying or extracting the contents easily.

Using the Add Media button won’t embed the PDF like a picture, it will just make a text link to the file to be downloaded.

Hi
I have asked the person if I can use his site to show you what Imean…
Here is the link – its a wordpress site
http://davidgaughran.wordpress.com/lets-get-digital/
If you scroll down half way ish you will see the invite to the link for the PDF version thats what I would like to achieve and if you click on the link it shows the PDF version.
Currently I have PDF via apple’s Pages app…am assuming that wont make a difference although David says he uses Word and a PDF add on…..
Thanks as usual for your help

Accepted file types http://en.support.wordpress.com/accepted-filetypes/
Uploading documents
See here for accepted file types http://en.support.wordpress.com/accepted-filetypes/ The following processes are outlined particularly for users who wish to upload a document and add its download link to a blog post or page. http://en.support.wordpress.com/uploading-documents/Embedding documents
If you want to embed the document itself into a post, then you will have to use a third party application like Scribd or Google Docs.
