Each comment is appearing twice on a shared blog

Hello Everyone,
I am an administrator of this blog along with two other people. The issue is that when either of us comments on the post of this blog, the comment appears twice – one time under the ID of “monday window” and a second time under our individual IDs. For example, see here – <<https://mondaywindow.wordpress.com/2024/11/04/monday-window-4-november-2024/#comments>>
Can you please help in resolving this?

This is an odd issue. Are you using the default Twenty Twenty-One theme?
Have you got any plugins enabled that would affect the comments? -
Yes, it is the default Twenty Twenty-One theme. No, there are no plugins. The issue wasn’t there earlier. It started appearing since the last couple of weeks.

I’ve tested on my website with the default Twenty Twenty-One theme, with another admin user and not experiencing the issue you are. I’ve tagged this for staff to look at and hopefully help out more then I can.

Hi @profundareflexion, that is odd! I have a few questions:
- Are the echo-comments always made by “Monday Window” or can they show from other people?
- Is it okay if we make a test comment as profundareflexion?
- Can you share more about which tools you’re using for commenting and any moderation you do? Which browser, app, device, version, etc… thanks in advance on that!
- I also noticed a comment by bushboy seemed to be duplicated, too; do you have other instances of that or is it usually just when a site admin comments?

This happens when any one of the admins puts in a comment. Both bushboy and I are the admins for mondaywindow.wordpress.com.
So when either of us writes a comment, it appears twice – once with our IDs and another time as mondaywindow.

I can’t recall exactly when but I have noticed it since at least 2 months. Yes, sure, you can comment to test.

Can you confirm whether the same issue occurs if you temporarily deactivate Fediverse? You can find that here after selecting your site:

Update: this is a bug with a fix in progress. -
