    Does the search widget search for terms utilized within post’s text?
    Mine is not.
    Why might that be?
    Is there way to make it so?

    Since your blog is private, I can’t test if your search widget is working properly, so I’ll give you some general information.

    Per https://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/search-widget/ , the search widget includes titles and bodies of your posts and pages, and media titles, alt text, file names, and image captions (not galleries).

    It excludes widgets, comments, categories, gallery captions or other text, or tags. I’d also like to add that it excludes any text that is actually an image (for example if you created a text using Photoshop or GIMP).
