  You can earn by monetising your site by various ways mentioned here:

  Third Party Advertisements are not allowed on WordPress.com. You can opt for advertisements by WordPress.com called WordAds.

  You need around 1000 views per month and custom domain to be eligible to apply for WordAds. Bloggers with Free plan can’t apply for WordAds. So you need Personal plan as basic to apply for WordAds.
  If you have either of Premium or Business plan then you can have direct access to WordAds.
