Hi there,
We do most allow affiliate links on WordPress.com, including from Amazon.com as long as your blog’s primary purpose is to create original content, and not merely to send traffic to these sites. Also, you will not be able to use the widgets or banners on a WordPress.com sites.
For more information, please visit our support site:

Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks!

Hi Darnell,
Thank you so much for responding back to me. I am new to this . I am only interested in earning alittle extra money a month to help pay my bills. I am not looking to get rich. I love working with computers and always dreamed of having my own internet website. I have heard alot about other individuals earning a revenue income from blogging online and thought I would give it a try since I reading and writing too. -
Hi there,
No problem. We do have an advertising program called WordAds, which you can read more about here:
If you require other advertising, you might be interested in a self-hosted (WordPress.org) installation. There are no restrictions on advertising if you setup a self-hosted WordPress.org blog instead of a WordPress.com blog, but there are some added responsibilities. Please see this link to learn about the differences:
We have hosting recommendations at the following link if you are interested:
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Thanks!

Ok. so here I am yet….again. I posted this before and did not receive an answer back. Since I am a newbie and I do not want to create trouble. Basically, I do not want to do anything that will land me in hot water and I not be able to use WordPress.com . I have always loved computers and surfing the internet. I love to read and write. This is the reason why I decided to create my own website as well as to earn alittle bit of revenue income from my site maybe. (?) I hope this is not too much to ask but Under WordPress.com …Questions
#1- Can I use my own Blog icon.
#2-Can I use my own Header Image.
#3-If I talk about EMS/FIRE/POLICE Apparel / Accessories in my blog.. Can I have different affiliate Marketing websites listed under a title page.. such as ..
‘EMS / FIRE / POLICE APPAREL WEBSITES’ within my header location on my own website and place my affiliate links only on this site . Or is this wrong.
# 4-Can I have a webpage listed “Pictures” in my header section with pictures of different clothing or other accessories within my website that I talk about.
#4-Where or when is it legal to place a affiliate link on your website.
#5-How often should an individual write on their blog to keep it up-to-date and interesting?
#6- I am not really understanding alot of the information on WordPress.com site but I am trying to attempt creating my own site and I just prefer some sound advice. -
Can I use my own Blog icon.
Of course.
#2-Can I use my own Header Image.
Definitely!
If I talk about EMS/FIRE/POLICE Apparel / Accessories in my blog.. Can I have different affiliate Marketing websites listed under a title page.. such as ..
‘EMS / FIRE / POLICE APPAREL WEBSITES’ within my header location on my own website and place my affiliate links only on this site . Or is this wrong.Depends. What is your blog going to be about? Are you primarily creating the site to list these websites? Or are these websites going to be sporadically posted within context of other content that you post on your blog? If the former, creating a self-hosted WordPress.org site might be a better option for you. These marketing websites should only compliment the content you post on your blog, not be the primary purpose of it. The only exception is if this is apparel that you are creating yourself. Hopefully, that makes sense.
Can I have a webpage listed “Pictures” in my header section with pictures of different clothing or other accessories within my website that I talk about.
Yes, as long as this falls under what I talked about in #3
#4-Where or when is it legal to place a affiliate link on your website.
Again, it is okay to post affiliate links to your site as long the primary purpose of your blog is to do so. There isn’t a certain number that we look for or anything, but most of the time it is clear when you’re simply creating the site for revenue purposes or if you are doing it while creating quality, non-commercial content for your site.
#5-How often should an individual write on their blog to keep it up-to-date and interesting?
Good question – that all depends on what you’re writing about. In general, I would say a few times a week would be great if you have the time. But depending on what you write about, once a month would be enough, or even once a day.
#6- I am not really understanding alot of the information on WordPress.com site but I am trying to attempt creating my own site and I just prefer some sound advice.
I understand that it can be confusing, but I appreciate you asking all the proper questions before getting started. For more information on affiliate links, check out our support site here:

Of course, feel free to ask more questions if you have them. Thanks!

Thanks you so much Darnell for the information and help. I basically want a website that is able to list several different websites links under one page within my header for every individual within the EMS/FIRE/POLICE to find comfortable and qualify clothing within their professional field by providing many different website links under this page. Of course I will have a separate blog page to post my comments on different clothing / accessories. Please check put my website . It is posted at https://emsclothing.wordpress.com/ from what I can see. I’m not sure I did this right. If I need to change to wordpress.org. please let me know before I get into trouble. I appreciate your input very much; especially since I am a beginner. I do work a full-time job but have a disable son that I take care of. I just want to be able to earn an extra income legally without working myself to death.

From what I see here, I believe the site is legit and in compliance of our Terms of Service.
You have quality content on your blog and you fleshed out your pages really well.
Continue to create your site and let me know when you’re further along. At worst, if you ever need to move your log over to WordPress.org, all you need to do is export the content from your blog here over to your self-hosted site. But, it looks good so far!
Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!

Hi Darnell,
I main idea or purpose is to set-up my website to create extra income coming into my household . I hope to eventually receive a revenue income from multiple affiliate website links by promoting their websites . I do not think I can do this on WordPress.com. So how do I switch to WordPress.org without losing everything? How much could this cost me? I do not have alot of extra income to start this with.

Create an XML export file of your content https://en.support.wordpress.com/export/#export-your-content-to-another-blog-or-platform
Then your can hire a web host and set up a wordpress.org install and import the existing content into it.Moving to a Self-Hosted WordPress Site https://move.wordpress.com/

Yes, what @Timethief provided is correct.
I agree that this will most likely be a better fit for WordPress.org. It’s better to err on the side of caution now and make sure your site never reaches the threshold of violating or Terms of Service down the line.
Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks!
