    I have a blog on wordpress.com. I recently bought a domain from godaddy. My question is is it possible to have this more professional domain with a .com in it to point to wordpress.com hosted blog that I already have? And the second question is, will i be able to show ads in this blog after shifting from abcxyz.wordpress.com to .com domain?

    Yes, you can connect the domain as per these instructions: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

    Yes, on top of the domain, you would also need the premium plan in place too.
