Easiest way to edit a slideshow

Perfect timing for the newish slideshow option, except I wish there were more ways to customize it. I’m using a page on my blog for my photography portfolio and I have both a slideshow and a gallery on that page for now.
I have already uploaded some pictures in a blog post and I can’t find a way to transport these pictures from my media area to the slideshow and gallery on my portfolio page. I know that I can re-upload them from my computer again, but then I’ll have to delete the pictures I already have and then repost the new uploads into the blog post. (so that I’m not wasting space with double files)
Other than remembering to upload to the slideshow page first in the future, is there any easy way to add pictures to my slideshow from my existing media folder?
I know there are outside slideshow sites that work with wordpress, but I don’t want ads on my slideshow.
Any help is appreciated.

The Support section actually have quite a number of articles about slide show features. Have you consulted them? Link: http://en.support.wordpress.com/?s=slide+show

@ WP staff: when you search the Support articles for slidehow you don’t get anything.
This is because WP spells it “slide show” in 2 words. Is it possible to do something about that?
Even Wikipedia spells it in one word…

I have looked at all of the support articles and there is no in depth information on how to edit or add to a slideshow. (I’m talking about the very basic slide show that you create right in wordpress) There are more articles on other slideshows, but I’d rather not use these because of the ads on them. I have also searched the forums too, and I can’t find anything.
I was spelling it as one word, but even when I click your link to search slideshow as 2 words I still get the same articles.
Anyone know how to add photos to an already existing slideshow?
