-
i was trying a lot to use a poll in my blog … and after a lot of ups and downs
i found an easy way to make your own poll
all u have to do is :
1- go to http://www.luckypolls.com/index.php and creat your poll
2- after you finished creating your poll and ID you will get a HTML CODE.
3- there is a General HTML & General HTML (Hyper Links Only) so take whatever you like.
4- go to presentation > widgets > text widget ( and edit the text widget by using your HTML CODE that was generate before ) .
5- save your work & go and view the widget in your page.i use it and it’s work good with me :)

Thanks for posting this brief tutorial. We have many threads in the searchbox on polls. Below is a complete list of links to all the various html polls that can be used by wordpress.com bloggers

I do not understand #4 and #5.
What do you mean by:‘4- go to presentation > widgets > text widget ( and edit the text widget by using your HTML CODE that was generate before ) .
5- save your work & go and view the widget in your page.’How do you edit the text widget by using your HTML CODE that was generated?
For text widget, they provide you with the numbers 1-9.
Could someone please help me comprehend this? -
# 4 – This means: Log in to your account; Select “Presentation” on the top tool bar; then select “widgets”. Drag a Text Widget from the “Available Widgets” into your side bar. If there are no Text Widgets left in the “Available Widgets”, scroll down the page and select the drop down arrow for “Text Widgets” (I think this is where you are trying to get your widget from) and select the next number in line from the ones you already have in your side bar. This will place another “Text Widget” in the “Available Widgets” box. Now drag that widget into your side bar. Click the small lined box in the “Text Widget” you just dragged into your side bar and a grey window will open up. Paste your HTML code in the large part of the box and type the heading you want in the top part of the box. # 5 – Then click the “Save Changes” button TWICE.
Now having said all this, I think you will be a bit disappointed in the results. The “vote” dots nor the “Vote” button shows up on the side bar once this is done. I’m not sure how thamer3li got his to work, but I have tried several ways. I ended up just using one of luckypoll’s options which lets you vote on your blog page, but then it takes you to luckypoll’s web site to complete the vote. Hope this helps.

Same thing happened to me. There must be some html missing and I don’t know how to add it.

The code for pollcode also gets scribbled.
Somehow wordpress is stripping code as you save changes in presentation.
Can someone from wordpress advise please or even give us examples of blogs who have polls working and owners we can ask directly for advice?
