Easy question from a new user to this theme

I’m new to this theme, and even without knowing everything, it’s ideal for what I’m doing. However, I’ve got some questions please.
1) How on earth do I change the colour of the menu of options at the top?
2) How do I set an image above the menu, beside what’s typed there (something like a table of two cells)

I’m learning this theme, but no matter what I’ve tried to do, I can’t figure this out. I’ve figured other stuff out, but not this. The first page is ok, but every other page is narrower than optimal, and I have no idea how to widen the text. Can someone please help me?

@robertwein can you confirm which site you’re having trouble with? The one you’ve listed isn’t hosted here and doesn’t seem to be having the issue you’ve described either.
For what it’s worth, these forums are for the free sites using our managed hosting service. Our service can be quite different from what you have as your own WordPress installation at another host.
