EasyWordPress.com?

Just a “dumb” question here … what is EasyWordpress.com? Even though I see the WordPress logo at the bottom, I still wonder if it really “belongs” to WordPress.com. And, if so, is it only available if using WordPress.org software?

Just exploring future options for my blog and trying to figure out how much computer knowledge I must have, etc. to possibly make my blog and more “professional” one.

No idea, but are you finding WordPress.com too difficult? It’s the easiest blog platform to learn, bar none; if you need to run javascript, or have iframes or Flash or ads or sales and service offers on your blog, you will have to choose a different service or host a WordPress blog independently using software from WordPress.org.

There’s also WordPress Multiuser. There are lots of WP iterations, some of them even cloaked (ie you buy webspace and it comes with a blog, but nowhere on the blog does it say WordPress, even though they’re using WordPress).

It does not belong to wordpress.com. There are many like it on the net. This is the real thing. The others are not.

If you provide us with specifics with regard to exactly what you want to achieve we can give good answers. We cannot give good answers when what it posed to us is vague. What do you mean by “more porfessional”.

    Are you focused on appearance?
Do you have css editing skills?
Are you willing to pay for upgrades?
Are you focused on making money from your blog? If so, this is the wrong place for that and you should go to http://wordpress.org/ instead.

My apologies for sounding so vague. At this time, I consider my blog to be a personal one cause I just write and post images about “stuff” I do. Gardening mostly and I leave comments on other blogs, mostly artist’s blogs. But, I’ve been considering making more entries about book publishing and graphic arts, this is what I do for work. I’ve been looking at some of the questions about Adsense and I’ve been looking at what’s involved with WordPress.org.

I know just a “little bit” about multimedia software like Dreamweaver and a little less about Flash. My only experience with computer science was a course at Tufts called Computer Science Primer (C++ programming) and, sorry if I offend anyone but, I hated C++ programming. I think it’s from that experience that I hesitate to go to WordPress.org but I would still like more control over style, a “few” ads, etc.

I hope that this is clearer. Again, sorry for the confusion. I appreciate all input.

If you want ads, you’ll need to use either Blogspot/Blogger or WordPress.org, which should be fairly easy for you. You’ll just need to get some webspace if you use WordPress.org.
