ebay affiliate question

    In order to register with ebays affiliate program I have to follow these instructions within 72 hours:

    Create a plain text file from a text editor and in the contents put only your activation code (provided below).
    Save the file as ‘ebaypartnernetworkactivation.txt’.
    Upload the file to the base directory of each of your domains that you would like to register.
    Example: If your website is http://www.ebay.com, your file would be located in http://www.ebay.com/ebaypartnernetworkactivation.txt.
    Visit the Verification Page when your domains are ready to be validated and click on the ‘Confirm Domains’ button on the Domains tab.
    Our system will look for the file and your unique identifier and confirm your domains appropriately.
    Activation Code: 87498hficvnljr (example)
    If you cannot confirm ownership of your domains, please provide a reason in the appropriate section on the Domain Confirmation Page.

    I have no idea how to do this! Please help. I don’t know what a base directory is or how to access it. I know nothing about FTP or filezilla and such. Please help!

    Hi,

    We do not allow FTP (File Transfer Protocol) access to any WordPress.com blogs.

    Also, while we do have an advertising program called WordAds, advertising outside of WordAds at WordPress.com is not allowed. For full details, you can see these pages:

    If you require other advertising, you might be interested in a self-hosted (WordPress.org) installation. There are no restrictions on advertising if you setup a self-hosted WordPress.org blog instead of a WordPress.com blog, but there are some added responsibilities.
