Hi,
I currently have a WordPress self-hosted e-commerce site and I was wondering how easy it would be to transfer over to your business plan. We currently use Mail-chimp and pay-pal. Can we use these with the business site? Also, does the fee include hosting? And is it unlimited as we have had a few issues in the past with our site crashing due to reaching our bandwidth limit.
Lastly, will it be easy in the future to transfer our account back to self-hosting if we choose?
Thanks for your help. -
Upgrades apply to sites; they do not apply to accounts. You need to register a wordpress.COM site first and then purchase the upgrade.
Please read first:
Important Notes Before Upgrading https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/#important-notes-before-upgradingre: mapping an existing domain
WordPress.com does not accept domain transfers but mapping an existing domain is possible. If you have registered a .wordpress.com blog you log in as Admin under the exact same username account that registered the WordPress.COM blog, and as you own a domain URL already, you can see here for mapping an existing domain. http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/You can register as many blogs as you want to under the same username account and associated email address.

We all pay in full for every upgrade at the time of purchase. Make sure you read the comparison very closely do you know exactly what the restrictions and limitations on WordPress.COM blogging are: http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

Every WordPress.COM blog has a sole owner. It is the person with the WordPress.COM username account who registered the blog under that username account and a single associated email address, and who is the original Admin of the blogs registered under that username account.
You must be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard and purchase upgrades at > Dashboard> Store > My Upgrades
https://en.support.wordpress.com/my-upgrades/Your billing history will be at Dashboard > Store > Billing History

You cannot use the MailChimp embed code or the Aweber embed code and cannot create a pop-up on a wordpress.COM hosted blog. You can create a sign up page on MailChimp or on Aweber only and link to it.
If you want to use MailChimp with your WordPress.com site here’s the info from MailChimp Support http://kb.mailchimp.com/article/how-to-add-a-mailchimp-signup-form-to-your-wordpress-blog
