  i am planning to buy the ecommerce plan, just wondering if it supports multisite with subdomains and sub-directories

  We do not support multisite here on WordPress.com so to go that route you may want to consider starting a self-hosted WordPress multisite instance, which is possible on “traditional web hosts” like Bluehost, GoDaddy, etc.

  Also if cost is an issue you can start here on WordPress.com using our Business plan, and that is sufficient to set up an ecommerce site using the WooCommerce plugin (or any other plugin you wish to upload to your site)
