Is there an ecommerce theme?

I would like to know if there is a theme that is best suited for a ecommerce site?

There are no restrictions on e-commerce if you setup a self-hosted WordPress.org blog instead. -
What if I already paid for my domain name thru wp.com? Do I just close this account and start another one through wp.org? Is there any way to transfer it? Where do I find my epp code so that I can use a hosting site?

If your domain name is more than 60 days old you can transfer it to another registrar.
If it’s newer than that you can still use it with any host you like by updating the nameservers.

Its under 60 days. I have not set up my hosting company yet or wp.org. When I go to the hosting company to register it’s asking for a epp code when I select the option to update my name servers on an existing domain. On the instructions you provided, I am confused on step four. I dont know what to put for name server 1 and 2 in the boxes since I dont have the information from my hosting site. What am I missing? Are my steps out of order?

The nameservers are values that your web host would be able to provide. You’d need to have an account set up with them first. Once you have a web hosting account set up you’ll be able to adjust the nameservers to whatever values your host needs.

Thanks Andrew. But I am still confused. The hosting company is still asking for an authorization key even though I am not transferring, just updating the name servers on an existing domain. Is this ok? Sorry for the trouble!

The authorization key is only needed if you are transferring the registration for the domain. Since your domain is less than 60 days old you’re not able to do this.
What hosting company are you using? They should have an option to sign up without a custom domain name at first and change the nameservers later.

A small organge.com. I elected the tiny option, and then it gives me three options,
1. I want a small orange to register the domain name for me
2. I want to transfer the domain name
3. I will update my name servers on an existing domain.I picked the third option and it asks me for an epp. Did I pick the wrong one?

When I selected the third option in their shopping cart I didn’t need to enter an EPP code. I was able to just enter the domain name I would be using.
If it’s still requiring an EPP code from you I would suggest contacting their support team who will be best able to help you sort this out.

Now that i have updated the name servers to reflect my hosting company, do close my wordpress.com site and open a wordpress.org site? I have not started blogging or bought any themes so there isnt anything to transfer.

WordPress.org is just software that you install on a hosting provider. Some recommendations: http://get.wp.com/hosting/
it’s not a blogging service like WordPress.com.
You can delete your blog here, but I recommend keeping it around just in case you want it later.
