How can I add a grid layout to my static home page, so that I can display an ‘About’ section at the top, and then my recent posts in a grid below?

I would preferably like them in 3 columns, but its giving me a list going down, and I chose this theme because it advertises that you can have a thumbnail grid of your posts.

    Thanks

    Hi,

it advertises that you can have a thumbnail grid of your posts.

On a static page with the Front Page Template assigned on the Edin theme, there are three optional featured page areas, and three optional widget areas. Edin also has an optional Grid Page Template, which might be used on the front page, but again this displays a grid of pages.

You could use the optional widget areas on the Front Page Template to create a grid of images linking to posts, but this would involve some work, creating linked images of the appropriate size. It might be easier to switch to one of the themes that are designed to display images linking to the posts in a grid or tile rows on the posts page. See below.

Themes with a grid-based or tiled format on the posts page, where each image in the grid or in the tile rows link to a corresponding individual post, include:

Limited posts in grid-based or tiled format
