Edin logo specs?

  Sorry, I’ve looked around and can’t find the recommended image size for a logo in the Edin theme. I’m trying out a few, but they seem to show up smaller than I wish, so I suspect they need to start out bigger or maybe they need to be more rectangular than square.

  Thanks, I’ve seen that page, but I was thinking that the themes that use logos might suggest the recommended sizes, as they do for other images in the theme, as here, for the Edin theme:

  The main column width is 540 except in the full-width layout where it’s 930.
  A widget in the sidebar is 300.
  A widget in the Footer Widget Area or Front Page Widget Area is 330.
  Featured Images for posts are 648 wide by unlimited high.
  Featured Images for pages are 1230 wide by 1230 high.

  I’ve previewed other themes just to see how the logo shows up, and it is bigger or smaller on other themes. If I want to keep Edin and the logo space is small, that would be good to know. Or maybe there is some code for allowing a larger logo.

  With the latest Firefox browser right click > View Image Info on your site logo gives the dimensions of the site logo as 288px × 192px (scaled to 252px × 168px). The ratio of width to height is 1.5:1.

  On a test website, I found the dimensions of a randomly chosen image set as a site logo to be 370px × 192px (scaled to 260px × 168px). The constant between your site logo and mine is the height of the image: 192 pixels, scaled to 168.

  The image is scaled, not cropped, so you could use an image ten or twenty times that size.

  Edin displays the logo at a maximum size of 583 by 192.

  If anyone is interested in theme code, you can find this by downloading the files and looking in the file /inc/jetpack.php on line 32:

  add_image_size( 'edin-logo', 583, 192 );

  Uploading a logo image at twice your desired final dimensions ensures that it will look sharp on high-resolution devices like retina screens.
