  I’ve created a website
  https://gemiesdbs.wordpress.com/
  On the homepage there is NO way I can change the short texts below the THREE PICTURES (About the Gemies, Who are the Gemies and The Gemies challenge). How can I access them? Is this a bug?

  It is a bit tricky so don’t feel bad that you couldn’t figure it :)

  Those three boxes are the three pages you designated as Front Page: Featured Page One, Two and Three respectively from Theme Options menu. Theme Options menu is in the Customizer. Click this link to go directly to your Customizer: https://wordpress.com/customize/gemiesdbs.wordpress.com and then click on Theme Options menu, the second menu item from the bottom, on the left hand side.

  The text in the boxes is the page excerpts; not the page content. You can change the page excerpts from the Pages screen at https://gemiesdbs.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=page

  Select a page to edit, and scroll down to find Excerpt panel. If there is no Excerpt panel, select it from the Screen Options at the upper right corner of the page. Don’t forget to click the Update button after you update the Excerpt. The blue Update button is by the right edge of the screen in the Publish panel.
