Edin theme – choosing a page template

    I’ve just installed this theme but can’t seem to choose a different page template. It shows in the step-by-step to choose a different page template – such as the Grid Page, from the Page Attributes, however, this isn’t appearing when I create a page, I’m only shown options for order. Can anyone help? Thanks

    Hi,

    Optional templates on themes that offer them are now found in the Templates section of Page Settings in the WordPress Editor (aka Block Editor), although they are still under Page Attributes in the WP-Admin (Classic) Editor.

    I don’t know where you saw the instructions that you mention, but if the Edin theme overview was the culprit, note that it needs some updating. In item 1 there, both the link to the Page Attributes support page, and the illustration depicting where to find the template options are obsolete.

    Up-to-date information regarding page template settings in the Block Editor may be found in the Templates section near the top of the Templates support page. However, the more detailed section titled
    Access the Template Editor via the Page/Post Editor further down in the support page again contains outdated information and an outdated image.

    amendment, for clarification:

    In item 1 of the instructions in the Front Page Template section there, both the link to the Page Attributes support page, and the illustration depicting where to find the template options are obsolete.
