Edin Theme – Custom Colors for main Menu and

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi,

    I’m trying to customise the main menu for my Edin theme site, currently being created at http://ftc.farrentaxconsultants.ie/wordpress/

    I’ve managed to get most of the menu to match my colors, but I have two issues:
    1) when you mouse over the links they are still turning blue – where in my css can I edit this?
    2) I’ve changed the colour of the down arrow beside the Services link to my green (in error), so it is invisible until I mouse over the Services link. Any ideas where I can fix that in my css?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

    I can see that your site is being built under a different host to WordPress.com and that you’re building it with the free software available at WordPress.org.

    The difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org can be an understandable point of confusion. If you’re unsure, the following guide gives a good overview:

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

    These forums are intended for sites that are hosted here at WordPress.com. Although I’ll help with your questions, I’m going to close this thread and ask that you post any further questions to the theme’s dedicated forum on WordPress.org:

    We’ll be happy to help from there!

    1) when you mouse over the links they are still turning blue – where in my css can I edit this?

    To add custom CSS, firstly set up a child theme or activate a custom CSS plugin. If you have Jetpack installed, then you can activate its custom CSS module.

    Enter the following snippet in either the editor for your CSS plugin or the style.css file of your child theme in order to change the background colour of your menu upon hover:

    .navigation-classic .primary-navigation .menu-primary > ul > li > a:hover, .navigation-classic .primary-navigation .menu-primary > ul > li > a:focus, .navigation-classic .primary-navigation .menu-primary > ul > li > a:active {
        background: #1EB28D;
    }

    2) I’ve changed the colour of the down arrow beside the Services link to my green (in error), so it is invisible until I mouse over the Services link. Any ideas where I can fix that in my css?

    I spotted the following in your custom CSS, which is changing the colour of the arrow to green:

    .navigation-classic .primary-navigation .menu-item-has-children:before {
        color: #1EB28D;
    }

    You will need to change the colour from #1EB28D to #FFF in order for the arrow to display as white. :)

    Hope that’s helpful! As noted, we’ll be happy to help with further questions on the Edin theme on the dedicated WordPress.org forums.
