Edin Theme – Featured page one, two and three did not appear

  • Unknown's avatar

So, I’ve already read the instruction in Edin Themes, but no luck :(
So here’s my setting on Theme Option (Customizer) :
    Featured Page One :
What’s New? -> Supposed to be the blog post
    Featured Page Two :
    About Us
    Featured Page Three :
    Ask Me Up!

However when you come visit my site, you will actually seen a featured page on the bottom of my home screen, which is About Us. But how did I do that? I do that by making the “About Us” page into the child of the “Welcome to One Percent Millennials”, then it appear there…

So, what I want to do is clearly like the instruction,
When I put my blog post as a featured one page, people could see my latest post about stuff, then maybe featured two page my post before the latest post…

So how do I do this?
    Thanks before brothers or sisters!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi irfandyjip89,

I took a look at the Edin theme. The featured content on the home page has to be featured pages (not posts). To select which pages show up in the featured pages section of your home page, Go to Customize > Theme Options and scroll down to the Featured Pages section. There you can select each of the 3 Featured Pages to show up in the order you would like.

You mentioned that you made a child page and it showed up in the featured pages area. Make sure the template you are using for your home page is the Front Page template. (Edit your home page, click on Page Attributes on the right, then select Front Page as the template.) I think you are using the Grid template.

If you select the page with you blog posts as one of your featured pages, it will show your latest post.

This theme also has the ability to mark individual posts/blogs as featured. I believe this keeps those posts at the top of your blog/posts page right after your latest post. But I didn’t play with that, so not completely sure.

    Hope this helps!

Hi, I did what you suggested “Go to Customize > Theme Options and scroll down to the Featured Pages section. There you can select each of the 3 Featured Pages to show up in the order you would like.” but they don’t appear on the homepage. WHy? I’m talking about the site simonemele.com
    Thanx

    Hi there,

Did you make sure the home page layout is the “Front Page” template? It will not work otherwise.

Let us know if you are still having issues.

    WOW THANKS SO MUCH!
It took me like 9 hours to figure this out by myself,
and sorry for the slow respond, I just managed to open the forum right now..

So, I changed it to front page, then my latest blog appeared!
Thanks! Oh yeah, so I just want to ask one more thing…
How do I put my other post on the front page?

So, if you can see now, my home page are completely different,
My latest page is “Test Stick to the front page”, I was trying to put my 2nd last page to the front page too. So, how do I do this?

    Hi irfandyjip89,

The Edin theme is not set up to display more than one blog in the featured pages section of the home page. However, you could put a “Recent Posts” widget in another footer. Then you can choose how many of your latest blogs to display.

Oh okay, and last, now you can check that my homepage has a picture of WELCOME SIGN and a text inside of it..
How do I make it like this?
    Welcome to One Percent Millennials!
One Percent Millennials is all about sharing & learning together,
    [/img] (so outside the picture)
Glad you make it to this new-born site!
    the rest of the text…
    then
featured page one | two | threee

    Hi irfandyjip89,

This forum doesn’t allow for attaching images, so you will have to try to describe what you are trying to do. Or if you have seen it on another site, point me there.

    Happy to help!

@irfandyjip89, there isn’t a way to split that content that is now over the image and have part of it below the image. It could be that with the Custom CSS, which would require the WordPress.com Premium or WordPress.com Business plan, and with some changes to your page content, it could be moved down below the image, but from looking at things, it would be very challenging to get things to work well for all screen sizes.
