Edin Theme – Grid Page – modify position of grid on the page

I have 1700+ articles on my blog, and the previous version of my site was VERY difficult for readers to find what they are looking for.

Using the grid pages in the Edin theme, I am creating Category pages to help readers navigate in which I give them an option to search chronologically via a taxonomy script…

    [display-posts taxonomy="category" tax_term="Health" taxonomy_2="category" tax_2_term="2014" posts_per_page="100"]
    [display-posts taxonomy="category" tax_term="Health" taxonomy_2="category" tax_2_term="2014" offset="100" posts_per_page="500"]

…and using the Grid child pages, letting them delve into sub-categories…

    Health

    – healthcare
    – disease
    -etc….

What I would like to do is place the Sub-Category grids on top of the chronological list.

Unfortunately, I don’t know if it’s possible to modify the Grid Page template to change the position of the grids so that I can place the grid higher up the page

    Help, please!!!!!

Hi there! Just following up from Twitter. You were caught in our spam filter. Sorry about that. :(

Is the issue written here still what you’re working on?

Yes…if possible, I would like to move the position of the child page grid thumbnails away from the foot of the article to a position closer to the top of the page.

Not sure if this is possible???

I’m having a hard time visualizing what you mean.

Could you send me a direct link to one of the pages where you want to move the thumbnails?

    http://healthhabits.ca/home/health-articles/

2 child-page thumbnails – located just above the footer

I would prefer they were positioned directly above the article list – Health Articles – 2014

Thanks for clarifying. The grid page is designed to include a short intro and then the grid of child pages, so there isn’t an automatic way to flip the page layout.

That having been said, you might be able to manage it with CSS.

It’s a pretty complicated customization, and we like to do those in the CSS forum so more people have a chance to learn from them. If you could post your question over there and let me know when it’s up, I’ll be happy to answer over there.

We also have great staff and volunteers in the CSS forum, so you may get an answer from one of them even faster than I’m able to get there to help you.

Here’s a direct link to where you can start a new CSS thread:
