EDIN theme: How to set-up grid page at the home page?

  • Unknown's avatar

Hello! I have some trouble to create a grid page with the EDIN theme even if I am searching information on internet..
Here is what I did: I created a home page as ‘Front page’. Then I created several ‘pages’ that I nested on the home page (top level: home page) and I selected ‘grid page’ as a page template. However, I cannot see the home page as a grid page with all my articles as in this example: https://edindemo.wordpress.com/page-templates/grid-page/

Do you know what to do?

    Thank you very much!

    Sophie

    Hi Sophie,

The front page of the Edin demo is https://edindemo.wordpress.com/. It has the front page template assigned, not the grid page template. The static page titled “Grid Page” that you linked to above is a separate page in the demo, which also happens to be chosen as one of the featured pages on the front page template.

I cannot see the home page as a grid page with all my articles as in this example…

The grid page template does not display posts (articles). It displays the child pages of a static page with that template assigned, i.e. the parent page. If the parent page has no child pages, then no grid will display. See the Parent Page section of the Page Options support page.

If you want your posts to appear in a grid pattern on the front page, then the following themes would be more appropriate. Themes with a grid-based or tiled format on the posts page, where each image in the grid or in the tile rows link to a corresponding individual post, include the following:

Limited posts in grid-based or tiled format

    • Canard (up to five featured content posts displayed in mosaic tiles)
