Edin Theme – Quote Post Format not working

    Hello, this is my test Blog and I would like to try out the Quote post format but it is not working I think. The official WP support site says this format makes a block-quoted Quote stand out more but I have done my quote with block-quotes and chosen the Quote Post Format, and have created a post with block-quotes and chosen the Standard Post Format. The 2 posts look exactly the same.

    Is there supposed to be an additional setting for Quote Post format as stated on the Thrive knowledge base – see https://thrivethemes.com/tkb_item/how-to-create-a-quote-post/

    Hi Starwise8,

    The tutorial you linked to is a tutorial for the Thrivethemes custom themes, they do not belong to WordPress.com. The information they provide is for custom themes that they develop.

    However, I had a look at the theme you are using (Edin) and having a blockquote on a standard format and having a blockquote on a quote post format doesn’t change the way it displays.

    Having you post with the quote format (on Edin Theme) will just help you to organize your posts.

    that is great information and helped me alot. I think I notice my latest Quote using the Quote Post Format to be marginally larger than other quotes not using that format, which fits in with the official WP support stating that quotes stand out more using the Quote Post Format.

    Hello again

    I’m using the free blogs with WordPress.com and found that sometimes Post Format options have to be activated – I think that there are Post Formats that are not activated in my blog Silver Shoes — for example when I click on the Gallery option, it works the same way as creating a Gallery without using the Gallery Post Format option.

    If I am wrong and either using the Gallery Post Format option or not using, yields the same results and means using the same method, then what is the point of the Gallery Post Format I wonder? Links below refer.
