Edin Theme: sidebar widgets no longer appearing on the side, are at the bottom!
-
I am using the Edin theme. Didn’t change any settings and suddenly my sidebar widgets are appearing at the bottom of the posts. What happened?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Also, my Menu items used to be listed out in a row and now the Menu circle appears instead.
Thanks for any help.

Hi there,
The Edin theme is responsive, which means it adjusts its layout to best fit the size of the visitor’s screen (whether it’s a small browser window or a mobile device). You’re likely seeing that different layout because your web browser window is smaller than what you were used to.
If you make your browser window bigger or maximize it to fill your computer screen, does the site go back to the way it looked before?

rachelmcr,
Thanks for your quick response.
The width of the screen I was viewing, was the culprit on the disappearing side bar! Thanks for the answer on that. What about the menu circle. I could swear that the menu items used to appear listed politely across the screen. Now it is either a menu circle or a HUGE listing.

The menu circle is a feature of the Edin theme — you can see how it looks in the Edin theme demo. Other themes do display the menus differently (for example, with the menu items listed across the top of the page) but Edin uses this full screen menu style.
A similar theme that has the kind of menu you’re looking for is the Goran theme. I’d recommend trying that out to see if it has the features you want. :)

Sorry. I must be remembering a different theme when it comes to the menu options. Thanks for the suggestion of the Goran theme. Edin is fairly new for me. (I used to use Vigilance, which was retired long ago… missing some of it’s features.)

Hi there,
I’m sorry, I just realized I made a mistake earlier! The Edin theme does actually have an option for switching to a more classic menu style — I managed to overlook that when I replied before.
You can switch from the menu circle to a classic menu in the Customizer (under Appearance > Customize in your site’s dashboard, or using the Customize link under your site’s title on the My Sites page). In the “Theme Options” section, under “Menu Style,” you can choose “Classic” to switch to a menu style where the menu items appear across the screen.
Again, my apologies for missing that theme option before!
