Edin Theme: Site main menu takes full page when opened
-
Hi,
When I click the “Menu” button at the top right of the page, it opens fine but it takes the whole page and the rest of the site disappears behind it. When I click the same button while using a mobile device, the menu only takes about a third of the page and the rest of the site shows below it, which makes more sense. This happens in both FF and Chrome. If I open the website using the WordPress preview, the Menu works fine in every mode (desktop, tablet and phone), meaning it only takes a third of the page when clicked. Is there anything that can be done to fix the behavior of the main menu so that it’s the same across different platforms?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi @microdatalogic!
The full screen menu on desktops is an intentional part of Edin’s design – it’s meant to behave differently from mobile devices :)
I did look at the CSS a bit, and because of the way this is all put together, there really isn’t a good CSS approach to change the functionality of the desktop menu. The theme physically reorders some of the page elements on mobile devices in a way that CSS can’t match on it’s own.

Thank you for looking into it. What threw me off is that in the WordPress preview (where you can choose desktop, tablet or phone preview), even in the desktop version, the menu shows at the top third of the screen, with the rest of the site right below it. Here is a pic:

That happens because the preview is narrow enough to trigger the different view – it looks like Edin’s tablet mode triggers at a slightly higher screen width than most themes.
If you click the button to view the demo site directly (just to the left of the button you circled) it will open in a full screen view and look more like your site :)
