Edit caused re-share on Facebook

    I just edited a post from 2 years ago to correct a broken link. I used the new editor because that’s what comes up when you click edit from viewing the post and I couldn’t be bothered to navigate to my normal editor in the dashboard.

    Having clicked update, I later notice that it re-shared my post on Facebook! That’s not right? Why would it do that? The other editor doesn’t do that when you make a small post-publish edit. Is this a deliberate difference between the two editors, or a bug?

    Can anyone help? Has anyone else seen this behaviour on their own blog? Is there anybody out there on the staff that can answer this, is it a defect or an expected behaviour?
