Edit / delete / reorganize categories?

  I know my way around wordpress.org pretty well and have mostly used that in the past. Now I am using wordpress.com for a tiny project – and I can not seem to find out where to reorganize / rename / delete categories and tags. Am I just blind that can’t find out where this setting is? I know how to add a new category from within the posts, but I want to organize the categories I already have. Thanks!

  I also looked around for some way to manage the categories and couldn’t see it right away. So I went to Support and searched for “categories”. The firs search result, “Categories” had the answer: https://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/categories/#adding-categories-via-the-dashboard

  Thank you very much. May I ask if you are on a paid or free account? Because I am not seeing the same dashboard you are seeing. (On all wordpress.org installations I have done I can find the categories like in your video – so I know where I usually find them.) However – wordpress.com seems to be displaying a simplified dashboard to me at the moment. Possibly because this account is free?

  When I click on “My Site” there is a sub-menu called “Publish”, there are only two items available in this menu – “Blog Posts” and “Pages”.
  There are no submenus from here, nor is there a category option.

  Have you encountered something like this before? I can understand if they limit the free accounts and what we have access to – not a problem at all! However – it seems counterproductive that I can create new categories, but I can’t edit / delete the ones I have already made.

  Hi have the same question as psychoproductivity and the same issue. I don’t see the same dashboard as diplayed in the video, which is strange since I have a premium site.

  Note, to get to your admin dashboard, wp-admin is needed in the url. I’ve insterted your blog name in the url. This should work.
