Edit domaine name

    I would like to upgrade my wordpress website and have a domain name that I am currently using for another website. I will shut down the other website in the coming days, and only once this is done, I would like to use the old domain name to the new website. So either

    1) by upgrading, I have the option of not giving a domain name (I can’t give the one I have as it’s currently being used)

    2) or I can create another domain name and edit it in the coming days, once I shut down the website.

    However, I don’t know if I can do any of these two options when upgrading. What should I do?

    Hello there!

    You have several options regarding domain names.

    If you want, you can keep your current domain name — either maintaining it with your current registrar, or moving it to another — and mapping it to your WordPress.com site. Here is information about mapping your existing domain name:

    You can also create a brand new domain name here at WordPress.com, by clicking on Store in your site’s Dashboard. Select Add a Domain, and follow the instructions to register your new domain.
