Edit function not working

    Can’t edit any blog post from the homepage. What comes up looks like a jumbled mess and it’s not the regular blog editor.

    I’ve taken a screenshot and uploaded it to my media library.

    If I go to All Posts, Published posts, then choose a post to edit, it does work.

    I usually go to the published blog post then click the “edit” button and that is what is not working properly.

    Hope this gets fixed soon. Thank you, in advance.

    Are you using IE? If so, can you use another browser? Lots of users are reporting huge issues with IE today.

    No, I never use IE. I am using Firefox. This problem started this evening.

    Firefox is perfect for me and it is quicker than using IE but IE is my usual browser.

    Make sure your Firefox browser has been updated. I updated it a few hours ago.

    It looks like all your content is copy/pasted from elsewhere. Not only is this against the Terms of Service, but it undoubtably introduced multiple HTML errors into the blog.

    On the dashboard Settings->Writing page, have you selected “WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML”? If not, do so. Then go to the Dashboard Posts page and set the most recent posts to Private, then back to Public. That forces the setting change to take effect. That should fix it.

    Just updated Firefox last night.

    I believe this is a WordPress issue.

    This has never happened before. I click the “edit” button and it takes me to something that looks like Add New Post but not the usual blog editor.

    Raincoaster, I have permission from all the writers to publish their work on my blog. They send me their work to publish. Many of the writers also have their work previously published elsewhere so I always link to the original.

    I also take offense that you said “all” my content is copy/paste, which is of course, untrue. The last piece I posted was an exclusive from the writer who sent me his work yesterday.

    There are no HTML errors on my blog posts and yes, I’ve already clicked that box a long, long time ago.

    This technical problem started tonight.

    Well, did you copy/paste the content into the Post box or type it in by hand?

    What is the URL of the screenshot you uploaded?

    I fixed it. I had changed the setting to use the new dashboard and then the edit button didn’t work.

    Today, I clicked the box that says use the classic version of the dashboard and the edit button works again.

    Not sure why/how these two different functions are overlapped??

    This is definitely a WordPress.com technical problem/issue.
