Edit function stopped working. Also can’t delete draft posts.

    Help? I was doing a lot of cut and paste…and Edit function stopped working. Also can’t delete draft posts. I deleted a lot of draft pages to try to clean things up. I couldn’t delete draft posts: ‘Error in moving posts to Trash’. MOST OF ALL I WANT TO BE ABLE TO ‘EDIT’ !

    Are you still seeing this issue? We had a short outage earlier that caused issues for some WordPress.com users. Things are back to normal and you shouldn’t have any access issues. If you are, there may be another reason we need to troubleshoot.

    Thanks for the help so far !
    I was able to delete a few posts, after a few tries.
    I can save the title.
    I still can’t get into edit mode with front end, then text box.
    hmmm

    Sometimes, recently, intermittently, when I try to go to frontend editing, the “loading” symbol goes on and on….and nothing happens. I walk away, and come back and its still trying to load.

    When I first sign in, there has been an error message at the top, which disapears very quickly and I don’t get to read it. I tried getting to it just now. I closed allWP windows and came back in thru admin. But it didn’t prompt me for my password, or show that screen.

    It seems like there is some progress in that I was able to delete some, but not all of the blank draft pages that I tried.

    On what site are you working?

    Front-end editing on WordPress.com is only possible if you’re using our P2 theme, and you have no sites in your account with that theme. Additionally, the only site I see in your account, https://ecoartdb.wordpress.com/, hasn’t been updated since 2013.

    If you’re using the open source WordPress software at another hosting provider, then we’re not able to help you in this forum. In that case, please contact support for the specific plugin or theme you’re using to enable front-end editing on your site, or else you can ask the WordPress.org community for advice instead at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

    Thanks again for your help!!
    I have a paid version of Word Press user for strawbalestudio.org I go in through https://strawbalestudio.org/wp-admin/ and use my passwords. Does this clarify in a useful way? Last year I changed administrators and switched to a new account on the same server: Siteground.

    (As you said above, https://ecoartdb.wordpress.com/ is old, like you say – 2013.
    I’m not sure why its showing up. I’ve run into it, too, looking for my current info)

    Does the info about my current situation help?
    Any more info needed from me?

    I realize I might need to be in another place to get help….but here is a bit of an update on what’s going on.

    I was able to trash one blog post, but not another. So some progress.

    I tried making a new “test post” draft.
    I can make a new post title, and save it. But I am not getting into edit mode for the body of the post through frontend like I used to a few days ago.
    When I go to edit… what would ordinarily be the edit page, looks like a finished post. When I again click frontend edit prompt, I am in that loop. again.

    Curious!!

    Your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted with Siteground.

    Oh thank you so much. I remember now that there is a difference between WP.com and .org. I think I can handle moving on as you suggested with the links above. Gratitude to All who helped !
