Edit home page

  Hi there, sorry I’m new to wordpress and I can’t find my homepage through the dashboard to edit it. It’s there when I look at my site, but isn’t in the dashboard to amend the content? I just want to have a gallery on my home page for now, I can make the gallery on a new page, but can’t seem to edit the home page to have it there?

  The “home” page by default in any blog is the page all posts are displayed on.

  You can change that if you want. Make a static Page, not a Post, and put the gallery up there. Then on Settings->General select that to be the opening page.

  Hi thanks for all the help so far.

  However, sorry but when I make a new page is this a static page? I’ve made a new page with the gallery in it, however in Settings>General I have no option related to opening page? Also, on my homepage there is a faint grey square thumbnail type thing that links to my ‘new’ gallery page. Is there no where to edit this page? As I mentioned in my first post, this doesn’t appear in my pages list but is there when I go onto my site?
