‘edit homepage’ – when I click on, it says I’m not allowed to edit this item

  Hi there,
  When I click on the ‘edit homepage’ button, it links me to this page saying ‘not allowed to edit item’. I find this strange as I am the admin and only one who uses it. would greatly appreciate some assistance. Thank you.
