I have an edit link on the bottom of my home page. Am I am able to delete this so it looks like a proper website.

No. Note that the Admin [edit] link is only for your convenience and the convenience of your Editors, if you have any. And only you and your editors can see it and use it while you are logged in to WordPress.com. re: other autofilled information in a contact form or a comment box note that your information is visible to you when you are logged in and have not cleared your browser cache and cookies. No one else can see it.
When someone makes a comment on your blog, unless they have cleared their cookies, WordPress.com will recognize them and complete the details for them. No one else will be able to view those details in comment boxes or in contact forms. The next person who comments will see blank fields. Commenters will not see each others details.
P.S. Log out, clear your browser cache and cookies and without logging in visit your blog to see that your details will not be there.
