edit link showing up on published page
-
When I access my site scituatehomerule.wordpress.com from a search engine result I still see the edit link on my home page. I am afraid that anyone accessing the site can use the edit link to modify my content. How do I remove the edit link?
I am very new to this webpage stuff and am probably making a very newbie error.
Thanks. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You may be looking at your new site via a search engine but you must still be logged in to WordPress.com if you see an edit button. I don’t see it (even though I’m logged in to WordPress.com for my own site) and other visitors to your site won’t see it either.

Hi there,
The reason you see edit link can be that you are logged in to your WordPress.com account. I checked your site and I don’t see any edit link. If you visit your site from another browser (through which you aren’t logged into your account) or Incognito mode then you won’t see the edit link.
Only Admin can see edit link to their site. No one else has rights to edit your site.
Hope this helps!

Thank you all. I was using a different browser but same computer with the page open on another browser. I feel relieved.
