Edit mode and blog look different.

When I post a new blog or edit an existing one, everything looks great. I use a lot of pictures and the pictures and data are lined up correctly. Once I post the blog and look at it things are messed up. The words sometimes lay on top of the pictures and don’t always relate to the proper picture. Is there a trick to posting pictures with data?

The post editor is a generic tool, designed to work regardless of the theme, while the actual post width varies from theme to theme. So you cannot rely on the editor for the end result: you need to hit “Preview” (at least until you get experienced enough to know what the result will be).

The way text floats around images is also affected by a reader’s screen resolution as well as the browser one uses.

The simplest way to achieve a steady relation of images to text is set their alignment to “none”, which means text above and below them, no wrapping. For more complex (but still steady) arrangements, you need to use html coding for tables.

By the way, the source code of your posts shows that you’ve probably being pasting from Word, which you shouldn’t be doing:

    Why not to use Word

If you are a PC user, try Windows Live Writer. It’s safe, and it will also take care of tables without your having to learn html coding.
