Edit my blog
-
I have a wordpress website http://www.mc-drives.co.uk for my company and a personal blog martindavenport2 (optimism will never lets you down). I have lost permission to edit my blog. How do I get my permission back. Why does WordPress.com have my mc-drives website on its list whenI believe it is a .org site?

Your WordPress.com site is reached via a different account: https://wordpress.com/forums/users/martindavenport2/

Thankyou…I’m sorry to appear confused. Its because I am! I simply want to edit my blog but dont have permission. This was simple a while ago. When I was looking at my blog, I had an edit icon to use. I appear to have forgotten what I did.

Hello there, you’ll only see that EDIT icon when you are logged in with the correct account to access that site. Log out of this account you are using to post to these forums and then log back in with the account that @themagicrobot mentioned in his reply.

Thanks…I did that and sure enough I got the username martindavenport2 and changed the password since I thought I had it but appaerently not. Changed it and logged in. When I go to my site theres nothing there!
What I did notice is that the user name now has extra characters so is now martindavenport2c39b2f4a5e
My mc-drives website is self hosted through Namesco I think so .org I assume? What has .com got to do with my mc-drives site?

Hello again, then it looks like you have yet a 3rd username here because these accounts are not related
https://wordpress.com/forums/users/castlemartin/ is connected to mc-drives.co.uk and WordPress.com likely through the jetpack or woocommerce plugin. This means you can log in to WPcom and manage that site from the castlemartin account.
https://wordpress.com/forums/users/martindavenport2/ which is connected to https://martindavenport2.wordpress.com/
https://wordpress.com/forums/users/martindavenport2c39b2f4a5e/ which doesn’t have a website connected to it that I can see, as a volunteer.
First log out of this account and then visit the Log In page at https://wordpress.com/log-in If you have access to the email address associated with that account, you can either reset the password by clicking on the Lost Password link there or send yourself an email with a one-time log-in link by clicking on the “Email me a login link”.
If you don’t remember the correct email address and you had email notifications of new comments or feedback on your site, you could try leaving a comment or filling out a contact form on that site and then checking all your active email accounts to see where the email notification goes.
Barring that, you’ll need to recover your account following the support guide at https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/
Let us know how that goes.
