  I am just trying to start over in selecting my theme and placing a photo in the home page. All I want to do is start over, keeping my same blog name. Pat

  I am assuming you want to place one of the two photos on your page in the header, correct?

  With the particular theme you are using, you can’t remove the header image, you have to use one of the defaults, which changes whenever someone refreshes the page. So first you need to change your theme. To do this go to your dashboard, then scroll down on the left to where it says Appearance. A drop down menu will appear to the right, select themes. From here, you can choose which theme you want to use.

  There really is no shortcut for finding the theme that works for you, you just have to scroll through and try them until you find the one that works for you. To narrow your search, look for ones with a custom header feature. There is a feature filter link to the right of the themes page that will allow you to choose which features you need your theme to include. Select the features you want (keep it simple to avoid confusion) and click apply filters, then scroll down to seethe results. Choose the theme that works best for you, and click on live preview below the thumbnail image of the theme.

  From here, a page will appear with what looks like your blog in the new theme, don’t worry, nothing has been published yet. Scroll over to the right side of the screen where there should be several options. One of them should say header. If not, click cancel and go find another theme. If you see the word header, click on it. You should see an option to upload a photo to your header. Click that, and a box will appear, select the photo from your computer that you wish to use, then click save/open (depends on the computer). Once you are back on the wordpress page, click upload again.Once the photo has uploaded an editor will appear where you can crop the image to fit within the boundaries of the header image. Click activate at the bottom right corner of the page and you are done!
