Edit my registered domain name

  I just paid $26 to register the domain name coltank.com but I would rather it be soccertherapy.net – is there a way I can do this or do I simply need to pay again to register another domain name?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there!

  Because of the way domain registration works throughout the internet, a registered domain cannot be altered. However, we have a policy that within 48-hours of purchase, you can cancel a domain for a full refund. Then, you can register a new domain name.

  If you want to keep using your coltank.com domain but you don’t want to use WordPress.com anymore, you don’t have to cancel it. Instead, you can continue using the domain by connecting it to a site hosted with another provider:

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/move-domain/

  However, if you don’t want this domain at all, I can cancel and remove it from your account for you.

  Before I do, you should know that when we cancel a domain, it can take up to several weeks to be released by our registrar.

  **We can’t guarantee that you will ever be able to purchase coltank.com again once canceled, so please keep this in mind.**

  Alternatively, you can keep it until it expires, and simply not renew it after that point. You’ll be given the option to renew or cancel the domain upon expiration.

  Thanks for the informative reply. I have no use for the domain coltank.com and have already purchased the one I am going to use.

  If you could refund me for the coltank.com domain and cancel that order I would greatly appreciate it. I will not be needing it going forward.

  No problem at all. I can cancel this domain for you. I’ve refunded your purchase cost, but before I do the actual deletion, I need to confirm ownership (for the sake of security).

  You will see an email from me in the administrative email box for your account. Could you please respond to it? Once I hear back from you, I’ll complete the deletion process.
