Edit not working today

After publishing my current post (Hillary Clinton: Today’s Richard III?), I noticed a word I neglected to include in a sentence. I’m an obsessive editor so it rankles me that I noticed this mistake after publishing. Nevertheless, I’ve tried to edit the post about a dozen times and each time, no luck. The correction is not made.
Anyone have any thoughts?

Ok, strike that. No sooner did I write out the problem here in the forum, my edit went through. That’s a little weird, though I’m pleased nonetheless.
So, as I see it……………merely writing out the problem in forums sends an other-worldly signal to wordpress and POOF, the problem is fixed.
…..now wouldn’t that be nice if it was true!

And now…………….my edit is gone again. Hmmm…..wonder if wordpress is having a problem? Or, something is just plain quirky with my blog today.

Yes, WordPress.com seems to be having a problem today. Make copies of anything you want to post today and keep them at least until Monday, just in case. And don’t make any big changes.

Never mind that last comment: that was for that annoying chewy who keeps spamming the forums. You’d think he’d have something better to do, like self-cutting or hanging out at a mall.

My current wordpress.com issue may well have the same underlying cause. I had a post in progress from yesterday (on the musician Kirsty MacColl). I edited and published it today. It seems to have published fine.
However, when I try to edit the post, I get an earlier and far shorter version. When I Preview that version, I get the latest and greatest.
Needless to say, I will leave that post well alone. And I will take great care of the long post-in-progress on how Automattic makes $ from the free WordPress.com service… -
