edit or remove footer on free blog

I want to edit or remove the footer on my free WordPress blog. Plus, can I remove the word Blog from it, so in search engine it does not say blog. Mine has a lot of static pages so it is really a site with a blog roll. thanks.

No, you can’t. The whole “Blog at WordPress.com” thing is something you must display; it’s in the terms of service, and getting rid of it will get your blog suspended. You can ADD things to it if you have the Custom Design upgrade, but you can’t remove that text or the link, or the info about the theme you’re using.
