Edit Post hangs up
-
When I try to edit an existing post, the page tries to reload. The code appears but gets hung up on trying to load the visual editor. If I let it time-out, a blue screen with the MS Window logo appears. I tried the CTRL +F5 without success
I just upgraded to a domain which originates at godaddy. My browser is the most recent version of IE running on an IBM T43 laptop.

I’m not exactly sure. I have a web site at http://www.tiafoundation.org that redirects to http://www.tiafoundation.wordpress.com.
-
That’s a WordPress.com hosted blog all right.
I am wondering if it’s possible that your internet connection is too slow now that you have to go through essentially one more step. Sorry I can’t help more, but I’m sure there will be a more technical person along soon who can be more helpful.

Thank you, Raincoaster! I doubt my connection is too slow. I’ve got a high speed cable and it happens whether I’m connect wirelessly or via ethernet. But thank you for trying to help!

Another weird thing. Since the domain change, I cannot make any edits in the blog except through my dashboard, which as I explained above, does not allow me to edit. The edit icon does not show up on the posts and I can’t see my dashboard, account, etc. at the top. I have to go to http://www.wordpress.com to get to my dashboard.

Friendly reminder that “latest version” isn’t a number. Please actually state what version of IE you are running. Latest version is currently the 8 Alpha. Also what maybe the latest version of a piece of software may not be to others. We had someone in here last month telling us their IE 5.5 was the latest version.
If you’re getting a BSOD on the write post page, I seriously think you’re having an issue with your browser or laptop. When was the last time you run both a virus check and an adware check on your computer? You may need to check to see if you need to update either one of those programs before running them. Granted it’s high end javascript but it shouldn’t be casuing BSODs…

I apologize. My new version of IE is very user unfriendly and I could not find the “About” which would tell me the version. I am using IE7 for Win XP SP2. I would not be a bit surprised if I am having browser issues. I update my Norton antivirus definitions daily. I installed Ad-Aware and just ran it, but am still having the issue. Excuse my ignorance, but what is a BSOD? I’ve deleted all my temporary internet files, history and cookies.
What would you recommend? Should I go down a version in IE? Or try Firefox (not totally in love with IE)? Is there any other information I can provide you with to enable a solution? Thank you for your response, drmike!

LOL! No, I don’t get a BSOD. Just the small window that contains the code, shows the flying MS Window. The rest of the screen looks normal. Thank you for the definition katm!

In case this will help anyone else, the problem has been resolved with the help of Tech Support at WordPress. There is a bug in IE7 so I have decided to install Firefox. Thank you to everyone who tried to help me!
