Edit Sidebar Widget Text
-
My sidebar widget doesn’t show all my text. It seems to be right sided justified and is cutting off a portion of the text. How do I edit this?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Consult the the theme description https://wordpress.com/customize/
Text Widget
This is a text widget. The Text Widget allows you to add text or HTML to your sidebar. You can use a text widget to display text, links, images, HTML, or a combination of these. Edit them in the Widget section of the Customizer. https://wordpress.com/customize/Consult the support docs

If you are not great at HTML coding then create a post make it private and later delete it. In the post you can create the formatting you want using the visual editor. Then you can switch to the HTML editor and copy the code and paste it into the text widget. When it appears the way you want go back and edit the post and delete it. https://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/#go-back-and-edit-posts

Oops! Correcting an error made above.
Consult the the theme description https://wordpress.com/theme/sela That is where the theme is described. You cannot edit the template. If you want a theme with a right hand sidebar browse these themes https://wordpress.com/themes/filter/right-sidebar

Thanks. I should clarify, I have a right hand sidebar so that’s not the problem. It allows me to edit the caption text but not the justification (which I think is the problem but could be wrong). Unfortunately it’s cutting off a portion of my text along the right side of the screen. Any ideas on how to fix this?

I cannot see what you refer to.
Screenshots can be very helpful. You can use http://snag.gy/ or http://cloudup.com to share screenshots and link to them here. If you use the WordPress.com guide for screenshots http://en.support.wordpress.com/make-a-screenshot/ you can and upload it to your Media Library, and return to this thread to provide the file name so Staff can examine it.
Then type modlook into the sidebar tags on this thread for Staff help. How do I get a Moderator/Staff reply for my question? https://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-help-in-the-forums/#how-do-i-get-a-moderatorstaff-reply-for-my-question Then please subscribe to this thread so you are notified when they respond. To subscribe look in the sidebar of this thread, find the subscribe to topics link and click it.

May I also confirm something with you? Is this the site in question https://maksdesignstudio.wordpress.com and are you logged in under the exact same username account that registered the site?
-
I’m using the Lovecraft theme, if that helps!
Yes, of course it helps. This site https://maksdesignstudio.wordpress.com/ is wearing the Sela theme https://wordpress.com/theme/sela and that is the site and theme I assumed I was being asked about.
What is the exact URL of the site in question starting with http:// of the site wearing the Lovecraft https://wordpress.com/theme/lovecraft theme?
-
Forgive me, I’m a complete novice in web design! I thought I had changed from Sela to Lovecraft (the look of the website changed). How do I find the URL of site with theme I’m working In?

How many sites did you register under this https://en.forums.wordpress.com/profile/kudoskay username account?
How many do you see under My Sites?

https://maksdesignstudio.com/ is now wearing the Lovecraft theme https://wordpress.com/theme/lovecraft

I’m going to type modlook into the sidebar of this thread for a Staff follow-up as I am visually challenged don’t wish struggle to read the source code and find out what’s going on inside your widget.
view-source:https://maksdesignstudio.com/ Please subscribe to this thread so you are notified when they respond and be patient while waiting. To subscribe look in the sidebar of this thread, find the subscribe to topics link and click it. -
Thank you! I appreciate your help. I apologize for my lack of knowledge on the logistics! As a side note, it seems to appear correctly on the mobile version but not the desktop version.
-
Thanks for the added information and don’t apologize for lack of knowledge. Either another Volunteer who is fully sighted will read the source code and assist you or Staff will. All you need is patience.

Hi kudoskay,
I’ve been able to replicate this behaviour, so it looks like there could be a bug in the theme.
I’ll create a bug report and let you know when I have an update. In the meantime, you may want to place both the image and text inside a text widget instead. If you need any help with that, just let me know.
Thanks!

@timethief I was offline for a while.
@kudoskay looking at the source code it looks like you’ve added an image and all the text in the caption box of the image widget. It would be easier to delete what you’ve done and just have an image in an image widget and the text in a text widget then all will be well.

@themagicrobot
Whew! That’s what I thought I saw too when reading the source code. Thanks.
