Edit Tag Cloud

  Hi,

  I’d love to be able to edit my Tag Cloud. Many of the tags in my current cloud are completely out-dated, based on topics I am no longer writing about.

  The Tag Cloud widget will display the 45 Tags you have most frequently assigned to posts in a cloud format and it cannot be configured to provide any customized display. There is no other widget that will do what you want either. You can manually create a list if you wish and place it in a text widget but it will not automatically update. You will have to edit it to keep it current. http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/text-widget/

  Or you can turn all your tags into categories and use the Category Cloud instead: same effect, without the 45 limit.

  By the way, you shouldn’t use the same word or phrase as both a tag and a category: they are exactly the same thing, so there’s absolutely no point doing that plus you’ll run into technical problems when you have such duplicates. (Same thing applies to duplicates such as “CoDa” and “coda”: search engines don’t pay attention to caps or no caps.)
