edit website

I am not able to edit my website. A message that I can make a new website is all that comes up when I log in. No access to my website. My website is still on the web and I can see it’s full contents but now I would like to add some more to it.

What site are you trying to edit? The account you’re using to post here has never owned any sites on WordPress.com, so if it’s a WordPress.com site it belongs to a different username account.

My website is furlanconservation.wordpress.com. This is the one I cannot seem to access to edit at this time.

Hi Walter,
The site is owned by another WordPress.com account.
If you still have access to the email connected to the account, you can enter that email address in the password recovery tool:
https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
If that doesn’t work, in order to regain access to a WordPress.com account, we’ll need one of the following things:
* A transaction ID for any upgrades purchased for the account
https://en.support.wordpress.com/transaction-id/
* The WordPress.com account activation link, which we sent to your email address when you first registered with us.

Thanks for getting back to me.
I do not have any of the information required to obtain or re set my user name.
I can say that a friend of my son set this web site up for me several years ago while at university here in Ontario. I believe it was under her email. I can’t get that information now as they are no longer in contact with one another.
My son did change the user name to his email about a year ago. I used that email and I was able to edit the web site at that time.
I can give this information in confidence to you if this will help re gain access.
Some how now I am unable to find my user name.
I did try to send this information through the account recovery but was not able to submit as I do not have proof of ownership. I couldn’t check any of the boxes.
Maybe my site will be static in perpetuity!

The username is furlanconservation, if that helps. That’s the only user who has access to the site.
If you’ll let us know your son’s email (don’t worry, you can type it here on our forums software will hid it) we can find its username, too.

It turns out that my wife’s email worked as username to the site and now I can get in to edit. Sorry for all this.
