Edit/Delete Categories

I’m trying to edit/delete a category on my blog. I can’t find it anywhere on my admin dashboard. I already read some similar topics about this and most answers are ‘admin – Posts – Categories’. But i can’t find Post menu anywhere. The only menu I have is Blog Post, there’s only 1 button there which is Add. There is an option to Add new categories when I post new content, but there are no option to edit or delete the existing one. I looked in all my menu (setting, widget, themes menu). I saw the support video, and my blog admin dashboard look nothing like what’s on the video (http://wordpress.tv/2009/01/05/adding-and-deleting-categories/). I’m using the free version wordpress. Please help

Hi there,
You’re right – to access your category page, you can go to your dashboard, and find it under Posts > Categories.
What is the name of the category you’re trying to delete?
The link I provided should lead you to the category page where you can edit/delete the categories you no longer want.

I solved they mystery.. yeay.. so i found out that actually what I need to do is copy my blog address, paste it on a new tab, and add wp-admin to find the REAL dashboard. So it become: https://xxxxxx.wordpress.com/wp-admin.

I just had the same issue but didn’t realise I needed to edit via the dashboard. Thank you woofstory for asking this question and thanks to darnelldibbles for answering :)

You don’t have to do it via the dashboard, but it is a way that many users prefer to make the edit.
